Health information about urologic diseases published by the U.S. National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases disproves the claim.According to the United States National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, when extra calcium not used by the bones and muscles go to kidneys, and is not flushed out with urine and joins with other waste products, a kidney stone is formed (Refer 'Definition & Facts' section). It recommends a low oxalate diet to prevent the formation of kidney stones (Refer 'Eating, Diet, & Nutrition' section). As per the University of Chicago and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, consumption of cucumber, among other low oxalate foods, is recommended to prevent kidney stones.
