False: An IT expert testified in an Italian court, saying that he and others rigged machines to switch votes to Biden.

There is no evidence of switched votes or that electoral fraud took place in the presidential election.On January 5, 2021, a website called enVolve published an article about voter fraud. It claimed: "An employee of one of the world [sic] largest defense contractos [sic], Leonardo SpA, has sounded the alarm and provided a shocking deposition detailing his role in the most elaborate criminal act affecting a US election." It continued: "Arturo D’elio, outlined the scheme that proved successful in using Leonardo computer systems and military satellites located in Pescara, Italy." enVolve dubbed their so-called bombshell "Italygate", and also claims that some employees of Leonardo were arrested for election fraud December 5, but Reuters reports that they were actually arrested for their alleged role in hacking the company's computers to steal sensitive information between 2015 and 2017. A video featuring similar claims has also been going around social media. In this video, Maria Strollo Zack, a former lobbyist, spouts similarly baseless claims. "The theft of the election was orchestrated in the Rome Embassy, on the second floor of Via Veneto, by an employee, Stefano Serafini, foreign service officer of over 20 years," she says. "Stefano Serafini coordinated with a General Claudio Graziano...General Graziano is on the board of Leonardo — the defense contractor, Leonardo SPA...Leonardo used their military satellite uplink to load the software and transfer it over to change the votes from Trump to Biden." However, the claims made in both the article and in the video are baseless. At Logically, we have investigated and debunked several similar claims, including one about key states having more ballots cast than registered voters—something that is false. Multiple federal officials have found no proof of electoral fraud in the United States. USA Today reported that "On Nov. 12, a national coalition of election security officials announced that "there is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised." Moreover, a coalition — which included the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency and the National Association of State Election Directors — also deemed the election "the most secure in American history." On December 1, then-Attorney General William Barr also told the Associated Press that the U.S. Justice Department had uncovered no evidence of widespread voter fraud. Furthermore, Newsguard classifies enVolve as a "conservative news site that publishes false claims and unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about U.S. politics, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic." Logically reached out to Leonardo SpA for a comment, but they have yet to respond.
