The original video shows Walz criticizing former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump.
What's the claim?
An eight-second clip of Minnesota Governor and Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz is circulating on social media alongside claims it shows Walz speaking out against the incumbent Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration. In the video, Walz is heard saying, "Look, you all know it. We can't have four more years of this! We won't have four more years of it! We won't."
Conservative influencer Benny Johnson, known for spreading political misinformation, shared the viral clip on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, "In a stunning move, Tim Walz comes out against the Biden/Harris administration. 'We can't have four more years of this!'" The post had 78,000 likes and 17,000 reposts at the time of writing this story. Archived versions of such posts can be found here and here.

However, the video is edited. Walz did not call out against Harris or Biden during the Green Bay rally.
What we found
Using a reverse image search on keyframes from the viral video, we found a longer version of the clip posted by Tim Walz on his official YouTube channel (archived here) on October 15, 2024, titled "Governor Tim Walz LIVE from Wisconsin Rally."
In the extended version of the video, at the 27:17 mark, Walz's remarks from the viral clip can be heard. Prior to these statements, he criticized Donald Trump and his tax policies, highlighting their impact on American jobs. At the 26:55 timestamp, Walz points out, "Trump promised he would stop offshoring. His tax bill created incentives for companies to do this. He cut taxes for billionaires and corporations during his presidency, and 200,000 American jobs went overseas. So, their revisionist history is a bunch of crap. It did not happen. They undermined us." Immediately following this, Walz says, "Look, you all know it. We can't have four more years of this! We won't have four more years of it! We won't!"
Walz made the statement during a rally on October 14, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in the lead-up to the upcoming U.S. elections in November 2024. The event was also covered by Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) on October 14, 2024. At this event, Walz addressed the crowd, emphasizing his concerns about the state of the country and the need for change. His comments were part of a broader critique aimed at the tax and job policies of the Trump administration.
The verdict
The viral clip of Tim Walz's remarks has been taken out of context. In the full video, Walz's comments were directed at criticizing Donald Trump and his policies, not the Biden/Harris administration, as the clip suggests.
